Why does the 3 phase motor jitter when it is started or powered off?

In the process of 3 phase motor test, if the voltage regulation or frequency regulation mode is used to start the motor, the starting process of the motor is relatively balanced, on the contrary, when the motor is started according to the normal operating voltage, the motor has a more obvious jitter phenomenon; Similarly, the normal operation of the motor, suddenly power off, there are similar phenomena, sometimes accompanied by more obvious noise.

When the frequency stimulated by the mechanical system in the motor operation is close to the natural frequency of a certain stage of the system, an obvious resonance phenomenon will occur, an obvious displacement resonance will occur, and sometimes a more obvious sound will be produced because of the vibration effect. When the motor is started or powered off, the “jitter” that occurs is a specific manifestation of resonance.

This kind of problem also occurs in the use of variable frequency three phase motors, variable frequency motors may operate particularly well in some frequency bands, and there may be obvious electromagnetic noise in other frequency bands, the fundamental reason is due to the role of electric magnetic resonance.

The process of changing inertia, that is, the process of changing the force of the operating object, the shorter the time of change, the greater the force, the more obvious the state change, the direct physical representation of the vibration that can be felt by human intuition, for motor products, may be the change of sound and displacement.

For this reason, it is very necessary to fix the motor during installation and use, such as fixing the motor bottom foot, end cover flange and installation basis, and adding other limiting measures if necessary. During the operation of the motor, there will be fixed loosening problems due to unavoidable vibration problems, so regular maintenance and maintenance is particularly necessary.
