Correlation between motor bore scraping and bearing failure

In the failure cases of motor products, some secondary failures often occur due to a certain failure, such as winding failure caused by bearing system failure, bearing system problems caused by increased winding temperature, etc. Today, we will discuss with you the correlation between bore sweeping failure and bearing system failure.

When there is a problem with the bearing system of the motor, the mechanical stagnation of the bearing may occur due to poor lubrication of the system, causing the motor speed to slow down or even stop. When the air gap between the stator and the rotor of the motor is not greatly affected, there will be no bore sweeping failure, but there will be insulation aging problems of the winding due to a sudden and substantial increase in current. If the winding has potential quality risks, the winding will have local electrical quality failures.

When bearing parts are damaged, the physical position imbalance of the bearing system itself will directly lead to uneven air gap between the stator and rotor of the motor, and the noise of the bearing system will be accompanied by low-frequency electromagnetic sound; when the unevenness exceeds the limit position, the stator and rotor will have a real rubbing problem, that is, a sweeping fault will occur. The fault is manifested as scratches on both the stator and the rotor, the motor will be hot, dull and have a distinct burnt smell, and the motor will stop running in a very short time due to the worsening fault state of the winding or bearing system.

When the motor has a sweeping fault, that is, there is substantial interference between the stator and the rotor, the direct manifestation is the inflexible rotation of the motor and the heating of the winding, and the impact on the bearing system is relatively delayed, but because of the abnormal operation of the rotor, it will directly affect the radial balance of the bearing system, the noise of the bearing system will increase, and heating problems will occur in severe cases.

From the actual case analysis, it can be found that the correlation between the sweeping and the bearing system failure is strong, and the dominant relationship between the two faults can be basically determined from the final state of the bearing system. If the bearing system problem is serious, the motor generally has a sweeping in the later stage, otherwise it will be swept first and then cause problems in the bearing system.
